Your New Role
As Head of Construction (Owner’s Rep), you will have at least 10 years’ experience of Project Management within mixed-use and/or residential high-rise buildings and complicated concrete structures. P.Eng and PMP is preferred. Based in Downtown Toronto, you will assume full ownership of two iconic projects from pre-construction through to project close out. You will also help guide and support a Senior Project Manager towards completing a third project, also based in Toronto. The Head of Consruction will have a strong track record of leading complex and large-scale building projects. You will have excellent technical skills and working knowledge when it comes to design and engineering. You will also have strong presentation, problem solving and negotiation skills, along with the financial acumen to ‘challenge the numbers’ and offer the owners alternative and creative solutions. This includes, but not limited to: Management of the General Contractor and selected trades to ensure completion of projects are on time and on schedule. Continuous improvement to budget and schedule and minimization of risk and impact for ownership. Design scope of work, write proforma’s, trouble shoot, evaluate and improve construction methods and outcomes. Chair consultant meetings and manage hard cost budgets. Involvement with bidding process, sourcing, procuring and testing supplies and materials. Write and analyze contracts and prepare reports for owners. Direct project consultants to ensure drawings are prepared on time/on schedule. Design and implement QC programs. Work closely with municipalities. Oversee H&S standards and all other responsibilities that ensure maximum productivity.
